There are a lot of ways to vacation using a luxury yacht charter. You can pay for a crewed yacht charter, a skippered yacht charter or you may want to go the way of what is called a bareboat charter, or bareboat yacht charter.

While there are very few times this would ever be an issue, it's a possibility that must be considered.

Laws of other countries would need to be understood in order to know if there are any other legal obligations as well. 

A bare boat charter has really no other difference than a luxury yacht charter, crewed yacht charter or skippered yacht charter, like mentioned earlier. What is different is the price of the yacht charter and who is skippering the boat.

The other difference is you serve yourself and provide your own supplies. Some people like this, and it has become increasingly popular over the last 10 years or so.

For example, if you want a barboat catamaran, it won't be a problem to find you, but it is worth the effort to plan ahead to ensure one will be available if you're going to go the yacht charter route at the busy time of the year in the specific location you're wanting to vacation in.
